Cape Lookout - N.C. Outer Banks

Beautiful, peaceful, unspoiled, awe inspiring....just a few thoughts that come to mind when trying to convey Cape Lookout on the outer banks.  We got there around 2pm on Friday and left at 10am on Sunday.  It was a great spot but very busy on the weekend.  At times I likened it to being anchored on the St. Clair River on the Fourth of July ( all of our Algonac followers will get that)....
that aside,  this is an unpopulated island, now a national park and a really special lighthouse.  The beach was ENORMOUS!....jeez I wish I hadn't broken my camera.  This is a little glimpse...
We were anchored with about 30 other boats.  Other than Marathon this is the most boats we've ever seen in one anchorage.
We met up with two boats that had been on balls near us in Marathon. Russel and Kathy on 'Beluga' and Glenn on 'Footloose'.....like I have said before this is a very special community of people. You never know when you will meet again but you know you will.

This picture is AWFUL:.....but look for the red anchor on the right.  That's us..

and......Bob got a "beach day"
