Bob is still as spoiled as ever!!!

We got to meet up with our good friends Gwen and Walter in Reedville, Va.  Reedville is a small town that is home to a fishing fleet that catches Menhaden (a fish used for bait, and added to poultry feed) .

Some of the Menhaden fishing fleet in Reedville, with the processing plant behind them.
When the wind blows the wrong way the smell can be rather "odoriferous" but luckily it blew the right way when we were there and it was a great three day rendezvous for us.  There is no shopping  just some lovely old homes and a couple of restaurants, but if you want to try Chesapeake Crab this is the place.
I had been wanting to try it but never did because I didn't even know how to do it.  You know eating crab is an art and you have to have some kind of tutelage or not only could you look ridiculous but you could find yourself eating some pretty nasty innards!
Well, we tried and we conquered .......hard to believe the little buggers were once blue....

Time marches on.  We are now in Solomons, Maryland on a mooring ball at Zanhiser's.
Tight mooring in a very tight harbor.  Solomons is a very popular stop in the Chesapeake. There are a lot of marina slips here, quite a few restaurants and fairly easy access to shopping.

THIS though is the real reason we came here......oh yes, the fun never ends for me, I am quickly becoming very high maintenance! That's what aging will do to you....eat you up and spit you out!!!  Nothing like having a root canal "on the road".  Any way Dr. Blucher was great explained every gory step.  The most painful part of the entire thing was handing over my credit card!
