We were treated to a new display when we got back to St. Michaels, Md. yesterday. This reproduction of the boat that took Captain John Smith and his crew around the Chesapeake Bay from April 1607 to October 1609 was on display on the waterfront.

Not a garden that John Smith saw but lovely just the same

My boathouse fetish full filled. This time on Shaw Bay on the Wye River

We have been taking it easy since leaving the Patuxent on Sunday. After the the crossing on 'squall day', things have been relatively quiet. We came back to the Wye River off of Eastern Bay because it is one of my favorite spots. It is surrounded by farmland and practically no new McMansions (well maybe a few new minis) and it is a short trip to St. Michaels, our favorite town. We anchored in Shaw Bay on Sunday night and again on Monday. Monday night I was treated to quite the lightening show around 10 pm. It was crazy out there, lightening flashing and thunder crashing and Gary slept through it all!! I know he is going deaf now and it is not just that he doesn't hear me!! Anyway, it passed and all was well. The only downside is shutting out the breeze (because of the rain).

We went to St. Michaels yesterday and spent last night anchored in the exact spot we had a little over 3 weeks ago. It was much less crowded this trip and not as rough from the traffic going in and out. That is the difference between a weekday and weekend day. We picked up some groceries walked the town a little more and are back in Shaw Bay tonight. It is a good spot to get a breeze and stay pretty protected. Storms were forecasted today but so far it has just been overcast and quite pleasant, another P.O.P. day on the water.
We now await our gaskets that are coming to our friends in Kent Narrows. Then we will be heading to Rock Hall across the Chester and your guess is as good as ours from there. Probably north to the Sassafrass River.
